We put out a call. We had no idea what to expect. What we got was 304 applications from some of the most experienced, passionate, and driven CDL and non-CDL drivers in the Houston area. Honestly? We were blown away.
The quality of your resumes, your work histories, and especially your responses to our questionnaire made this one of the hardest decisions we have had to make as a company. Every time we thought we had our list, we would read another response that stopped us in our tracks. Houston has serious contenders — at every level — and we mean that.
Where We Are Right Now
After spending hours — and we mean hours — combing through applications, cross-referencing responses, and having more than a few spirited debates, we have selected our top 26 applicants — across both CDL and non-CDL roles — to move forward to the interview stage.
If you are one of those 26, you will be hearing from us. We are excited. Genuinely excited. These are conversations we are looking forward to having.
A note for a handful of candidates: Some responses are still pending on our end. If you have not heard from us yet, please check your Indeed messages — we have a few follow-up questions before we can move you forward. Do not count yourself out. We just need a little more from you before we can make our call.
What Comes Next
The next step from here is interviews, and we expect to begin those later this month for both CDL and non-CDL candidates.
Now — we want to be straightforward with you, because we believe you deserve that.
Oryzon Cold Transport is not yet operational. We are in our build-out phase and are on track to launch this summer. That means we do not have a firm start date to give you today. We know that matters, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
What we can tell you is this: we have listened carefully to what you said in your questionnaires. You told us what matters to you. We heard it. And we will be offering very competitive compensation, including a quarterly bonus structure for our drivers — CDL and non-CDL alike.
Our Ask
We want you on this team. If we have reached out to you — or if you are still in the running — that means something. We did not take these decisions lightly.
Our ask is simple: Would you be open to staying in the running with us as we move toward launch?
We will keep you updated on timing as we move through our launch phase.
